Fence Post Fish!

As a child i used to go fishing with my father and on this particular occasion the river was rather large and quite dirty due to a flood.

My father said at the time that he would normaly not fish this type of water because of it's condition but added that he has caught the odd fish in these conditions in the past, so he set up his spinning rod and started fishing, just a minute later his line stopped in mid current and he said YES, i have a fish on and i think it's a salmon.

The fish lead him down stream about a half mile and at times stopped then pulled away again, he said that he thought that the salmon was rather large although we had not seen the fish yet.

It was about an hour later that the fish was getting closer to the bank side and my father was getting a bit excited by now, then, all of a sudden this large fence post with barbed wire attached rose out of the water with his spinner hooked onto it, his face was a picture and i could not repeat what he said at that time.

As the saying goes, There's More To Fishing Than Catching Fish!.
